Changes to Elbow mark and South Start Line

Commencing with this years Spring Regatta 25 & 26 May some significant changes to long standing club Sailing Instructions are being introduced primarily with the aim of improving safety on the river. The biggest change is that Elbow mark will only need to be rounded when heading up river – when returning down river (i.e. towards the club house) it may be omitted, but do remember that there are plenty of moored boats to avoid and that the water off Ferry Point can be shallow. The other major change is that the South Line may now be used to finish as well as start races. If this is to be the case then a blue and white Flag J will be flown from the club house mast in place of the traditional yellow Q flag. Full details will be contained in a revised edition of the clubs sailing instructions but also the latest news letter from the club which can be read here: IMPORTANT CHANGES 10-05-19
