K6 at Aldeburgh
The K6 is an exciting keelboat to sail and race, with an active UK racing circuit, with occasional regattas in the US and Lake Garda.

With a lifting keel to provide stability, but a sailing weight of just 280kg, speeds of over 17 knots are achievable.

AYC has a fleet of 6 K6’s all of which are actively sailed and raced. The river benefits of have very few obstacles interupting the wind, but generally has flat water – ideally conditions for a K6.  A long slipway and moveable pontoon allows access at all states of the tide.
