FOOD AND DRINK AT AYC IN SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER

THE GALLEY will be open through to end October: Saturday and Sundays 11am to 3pm (and later if demand is there) – SO please do support them!

We continue to work to ensure the club remains as safe as possible but do ask for your support to ensure the process put in place is followed.

Wednesday Night Suppers, and Sunday Lunch will need to be pre-booked via GALLEY@ALDEBURGHYC.ORG.UK. OR 07460 400276.  Each host booking a table will be responsible for providing the names of your guests for the test and trace.  Saturday Pizzas can also be pre-booked but you can turn up on the day and you will be offered takeaway if there is no table availability.

We have now set up the tables in the club house. When you arrive at the club, everyone must sign in, wear a face covering while moving around the club and go and sit down.  It will only be table service for both food and drink.  You will be given a time slot with your booking and ask that you come in and go straight to your table.  Your food and drink order will be taken at the table and be brought to you from the Galley.

The Bar – please ensure your party enjoy any pre-lunch drinks seated in Riverview, on the Terrace or ideally go straight to your table.  To help us make the club as safe as possible, please ENSURE SOCIAL DISTANCING AND NO STANDING AROUND THE BAR AREA WITH DRINKS.  From next week the Chart Room will be set up with soft seating to provide additional seating if required.

Saturday 26th September – from 2pm

To feel part of the Aldeburgh Food Festival, we felt it only appropriate to create our Suffolk Gin & Tonic this weekend – creating our own GinFest.  On Saturday 26th the Bar will be serving an array of locally sourced and influenced Suffolk gin cocktails from £5.  Table service only.

Sunday 27th September Lunch

Clarkes of Bramfield roast Beef or roast Blythburgh Pork with crackling and apple sauce
served with with yorkshire puddings – roast potatoes and a varied choice of vegetables
Apple pie and whipped cream or Steamed syrup sponge and custard

Seniors’ Lunch on Sunday 4th October

We have brought this occasion forward to the first weekend of October when we hope the weather will be a bit warmer and our new dining set up in the Clubhouse will be in place.   When you make your booking, please advise who you would like on your table – maximum 6 at each table.  At the time of booking you will be notified of your reservation time so that the table service can be staggered across the lunchtime and you can arrive and go straight to your table and everything will be brought to you!  A delicious menu has been planned for £15 per head:

Slow roast shoulder of lamb, dauphinoise potato, roasted squash,
red wine braised salsify and roasted shallots
Plum tart tatin with butterscotch and clotted cream

SAVE THE DATE: Saturday 24th October – we still hope to have the Laying Up Supper so keep it free. There will need to be a few tweaks to the usual format to comply with regulations.  More information to follow shortly.

THE BAR:  Open: 12 to 2.30pm then 3.30 to 6pm (Saturday & Sundays)

When the Galley is closed, tea, coffee and hot chocolate – along with flapjacks and selection of chocolate is now available from the Bar.
