Updated Changes to the AYC Sailing Instructions

To take effect from 19 July 2021

Reintroduction of post-race Declarations. With the easing of COVID restrictions we are reintroducing post-race declarations. These sign off sheets, will be located on the traditional counter in the club entrance lobby for club races and on tables in the marquee during the regatta. Please remember to sign off when you come ashore to confirm that you have completed the race course according to the rules – or alternatively that you have retired.

New club racing mark. An additional mark has been laid just to the west of the Pump mark “X”. This mark is known as “A” (for Andy – if you like!). The new mark can be used in conjunction with Pump to ease congestion as a first turning mark – it is not just a spreader mark and will be shown as a mark of the course – so for example if the OOD wants a fleet to round both marks – the course boards will show “A X” or “X A” depending on which way round he wants you to go round. OODs are still able to use one or the other of the marks in isolation in the traditional manner. Course cards will be updated shortly.
