EVENTS Coming Up at AYC
Curry Lunch - Sunday 1st March
Our annual Curry Lunch will be on the first Sunday in March. Tim Hannon and his team will be in the kitchen cooking up a feast for us all.
There will be 3 courses - nibbles, mains and pudding. There will be 9 dishes with lots of vegetables.
It's £22.50 per head.

Mothers Day Lunch - Sunday 15th March
The Mother's Day lunch at AYC is on 15th March. Book now and treat your mothers to a choice of 2 or 3 courses, please book by emailing galley@aldeburghyc.org.uk and let them know how many courses you would like and any dietary requirements you may have.

Inspiring Supper - Seb Mawson: Saturday 21st March
If you haven't done so already, book now! Another exciting talk from a member who started their love of the sea at AYC! Capt. Seb Mawson will share highlights of his journey around the world from junior sailor to boatman, Officer to Captain, and give insights into his life now as a Tugboat Master at the busy port of Felixstowe.
The bar will be open from 6pm and the talk starts at 6:30pm, followed by a two-course supper. Please book via office@aldeburghyc.org.uk and let the office know of any dietary requirements.
It's £22.50 for members and £26.50 for non-members.
If you plan to come for the talk but not stay for supper, please let the office know.

AYC Boat Car Boot Sale - Friday 3rd April 10am - 12pm
AYC's Annual Easter Quiz - Saturday 4th April
Hilary Lightfoot will be back again to present our annual Easter Quiz on Saturday 5th April. Our quiz queen runs a brilliant quiz every year which is great for all ages and abilities. Book your team of 6 in now by emailing office@aldeburghyc.org.uk.
The bar will be open from 6pm, the first round begins at 7pm and there will be a break for supper at 7:45pm.
Cost per head is £27.50.
The menu for the evening will be:
Main Course: Chicken Dhansak with rice, poppaadoms, tomato mint and onion salad and mango chutney
Dessert: Lemon tart with raspberry coulis and creme fraiche

An Evening with Iestyn Edwards - Saturday 25th April
We are delighted that Iestyn Edwards - an Olivier Award winning international variety headline act, Millennial Busker of the Year, BBC Woman's Hour 'Forces' Sweetheart' - will tell us his tales of entertaining troops in Iraq "when his tutu went AWOL".
Bar opens at 6pm, entertainment begins at 6:30pm and is followed by a 3 course bistro-style meal.
Cost per head is £35. Book your place via office@aldeburghyc.org.uk - for this event it will be tables of 8. Either let Ellie know if you would like to sit on a club table, or specify the names in your party.

Wednesday racing and sailors suppers will begin again on 22nd April. Sailors Suppers are on every Wednesday 19:00 - 20:30 after Wednesday racing . Please book in advance via galley@aldeburghyc.org.uk. Please let them know of any dietary requirements. £17 (£20 for non-members) for 2 courses.

The coffee mornings run every Thursday at 10:30am. A small donation is asked for to go towards the coffee and biscuits and any remaining funds are donated to AYC Schools Sailing Trust, BIGKID and the Woolverstone Project. Everyone is welcome. The Galley will be open every Saturday when Saturday racing begins again on 21st March. There will be a selection of sandwiches and hot lunches and they'll be open 12:00 - 14:30. Come down to the Club on Saturdays to watch or take part in Saturday racing. |

Note for New Members: The social events at the club are many and varied. In addition to the regular Wednesday Evening suppers through the summer and the Sunday lunches, there are usually events ranging from Scottish Dancing in the winter, culminating in a Burns Night Dinner, to dinners and other social events that complement the sailing calendar such as Fitting Out and Laying up Suppers. The main social event of the year is the Regatta Ball in August, and there are lots of other class dinners and drinks events as well.
